With the unveil of a new logo, rebrand and fan promise, MCM has been nominated for Consumer Marketing Campaign of the Year at the AEO Excellence Awards 2018. Who are we? We are the fans, for the fans. We are MCM Comic Con.
MCM has taken a bold step forward with a dynamic new logo, rebrand and marketing campaign, all of which support a new commitment MCM is making to its fans.
It is a new dawn for the UK-based company, since MCM Comic Con’s acquisition by ReedPOP in late 2017, with exciting and stimulating times ahead and a focus on growing its portfolio of comic cons in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
Maintaining an explosive pop culture-related theme, MCM has improved the look and feel of the branding for all of its shows while still allowing each one to have its own locational identity.
Tying in with the new branding, MCM has launched a new ‘We Are The Fans’ marketing campaign which has recently been shortlisted in the AEO Excellence Awards for Consumer Marketing Campaign of the Year.

This has been more than a campaign for us, it’s a promise from the entire MCM team to our fans, and to have the AEO recognise this, is incredible.”
The new logo exudes more personality for the shows, while also representing the diverse squad of event professionals with specialist superpowers behind the brand, uniting to deliver innovative pop culture experiences for MCM fans.
Since the company’s founding in 2001, MCM has grown to become the UK’s leading pop culture event organiser, dedicated to producing experiential fan events. Making the MCM brand more current and modern, the company’s rebrand looks to the future of pop culture and reflects the growth of MCM’s shows.
“When we talked to fans at MCM London and Birmingham this past fall, they told us about their attachment and affection for the MCM brand,” says Mary Franklin, Global Event Director for ReedPOP. MCM and ReedPOP want to honour their loyalty to the shows and to their fan communities. We are planning fresh, expanded experiences, guest lists, and programming for all upcoming shows.”

It supports the fan first ideology, representing the commitment MCM is making to listen to its fans and delivering the types of experiences they crave.
