MCM Comic Con, the UK’s largest organiser of pop culture events is gearing up for the return of MCM Manchester, with bigger guests, a new Community Zone, exclusive products and more explosive and interactive content.
Celebrating the latest and greatest in geeky goodness for fans, MCM Comic Con Manchester will bring an action-packed weekend of pop culture to Manchester Central, on 28-29 July – featuring everything from comics, movies, games and sci-fi to cosplay, anime, steampunk and online video.
Leading MCM’s special guest line up this show are The Walking Dead’s Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews, Christopher Judge (Stargate, God of War) and Zach McGowen (Black Sails, The 100), among many more to be announced over the coming weeks.
For videogame fans out there wanting a bite of the action, MCM is bringing glory and victory to Manchester with three of Overwatch’s heroes in the form of Charlet Chung, Lucie Pohl and Gaku Space. Award-winning video game voice stars Troy Baker and Nolan North (both Uncharted, The Last of Us) are also set to appear at the Manchester show, alongside Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect) and Robin Atkin Downes (Team Fortress 2, Thundercats).
MCM will be unveiling an updated and refreshed MCM Comic Con Manchester, with a brand new Community Zone, alongside the show’s Comic Village, Main Stage, Live Stage and KidZone.
“The new Community Zone at Manchester is something we’re really excited for the fans to get involved in,” said Mary Franklin, Global Event Director, ReedPOP. “We’ve been talking to representatives from the vibrant fan communities from Liverpool to Manchester and around the area. Meeting up with friends and like-minded fans is a priority for them at our shows. The new Community Zone will provide a central hub for them, and we look to keep improving it with each show.”
EMMY-nominated writer best known for writing comics for Adventure Time, Wallace and Gromit, Mike Garley is among the stars featuring in Manchester’s Comic Village, alongside Sarah Graley (who drew the Rick and Morty miniseries Lil’ Poopy Superstar), Marc Ellerby (lead artist on the official Rick and Morty comics) and Gary Erskine (who has worked in the comic industry for near thirty years for MARVEL, DC Comics, Vertigo, Dark Horse Comics) and many more artists!
“We’ve thought hard about the fan experience, spent time getting to know what the fans want to see, and worked hard to deliver on that,” added Danny Aindow, MCM National Event Manger.
“We’ve got a vibrant selection of celebrity guests, a Comic Village packed with some of the best independent comic talent in the UK, amazing hands-on gaming opportunities, a new and exciting cosplay competition to find and highlight the UK’s best cosplay talent, and much more.”
Elsewhere at MCM Comic Con Manchester, you’ll find a host of amazing comic book artists and writers, Asian culture celebrations, steampunk and children’s entertainment.
And then, of course, there are the awesome exhibitors and retailers, including movie studios, videogame and comic book publishers, anime and manga distributors, and much, much more.
