MCM Comic Con, the UK’s largest organiser of pop culture events is gearing up for the return of MCM Scotland, as part of the ReedPOP family, with bigger guests, exclusive panel content and entertaining and interactive show floor features.
Celebrating the latest and greatest in geeky goodness for fans, MCM will bring an action-packed weekend of pop culture to the SEC Glasgow, on 22-23 September – featuring everything from comics, movies, games and sci-fi to cosplay, anime, steampunk and online video.
Leaving the safety of the kingdom and travelling to meet fans in Glasgow are The Walking Dead’s Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews, who portray King Ezekial and Jerry on the hit show, alongside Ross Marquand, Lew Temple, Joshua Mikel, Jayson Warner Smith and Macsen Lintz.
For videogame fans out there wanting a bite of the action, MCM is bringing glory and victory to Glasgow with three of Overwatch’s heroes in the form of Charlet Chung, Lucie Pohl and Gaku Space.
Also boasting a plethora of acting credits to their names, we have Zach Callison (Steven Universe) and Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time), alongside Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist), Jess Harnell (Transformers) and Ivy Doomkitty, the internationally renowned cosplayer will be here to talk all things cosplay.
Award-winning video game voice stars Troy Baker and Nolan North (both Uncharted, The Last of Us) are also set to appear over the weekend, alongside Merlin’s Alexander Vlahos and Rupert Young, Braveheart’s very own Angus McFadyen.
Headlining our Comic Village, comic book legend and Eisner Award-winning comics writer Brian Azzarello will be meeting fans at MCM Scotland, alongside the talented Barry Jazz Finnegan, who will be treating us to live charcoal art on the show floor. Rising star Donny Cates, currently penning Venom, Thanos and Doctor Strange for Marvel will also be hitting the spotlight at MCM Scotland.
“MCM Glasgow has a real homecoming feel for me,” said newly appointed MCM National Event Manager, Laura McCrum. “This my first event in the new role, and it feels fitting that it’s on my home shores of Scotland. Hosted by the city of Glasgow, where the people are ‘miles better’, I cannot wait for pop culture to meet the City of Culture.
“Bringing with us an exciting selection of guests, memorabilia, collectables and exclusives, MCM Glasgow is the dance card filler of the season.”
As well as welcoming the stars and filmmakers of new action-horror epic Redcon-1 for a special panel and exclusive signing before the film hits cinemas across the UK, MCM is playing host to a version of William Wallace that you’ll never forget, in a Twisted Toonz performance of Braveheart.
Following its awesome launch in Manchester, the UK Championships of Cosplay are back! A brand new cosplay competition for the UK will be taking place during the weekend, which ties into our worldwide ReedPOP show – read on through the show guide to find out more!
